Urban Wine Walk

Explore the wonderful world of wine
The Urban Wine Walk is an annual event which gets people out and about exploring Downtown Phoenix on self-guided tasting tours. In addition to tasting all the fabulous wines offered up by local restaurants for only $2-3 per sample, this self-guided tour is a great way to socialize with locals and visitors, explore local restaurants and bars, get a little exercise in the process. Participating bars and restaurants in both uptown and downtown areas are all conveniently located along the light rail corridor and provide a truly pedestrian-friendly adventure in wine tasting. This is a great social experience in addition to a wine tasting so bring along your friends or expect to make some new ones along your travels as everyone enjoys the experience of the Urban Wine Walk.

Restaurants and bars participating in the event provide a wine sampling which includes an hors d’oeuvre for $2-3.
Each restaurant or bar can be conveniently accessed on foot, by bike, or by light rail from the other participating establishments. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear which is appropriate for walking around for longer periods.
The Urban Wine Walk has its own host location, CityScape Residences, which will offer the first 300 guests a commemorative wine glass. Supplies will run out quickly so plan to go a little early if you want to try to get one of these commemorative keepsakes.
Spring Restaurant Week
When: May 15-25
Arizona Restaurant Week is a fabulous opportunity to sample the offerings of Valley restaurants participating in the bi-annual event. For only $33 or $44 per person *, you can enjoy a prix-fixe (fixed price) dinner prepared by Arizona’s top culinary experts. Each restaurant will feature fantastic Three Course Prix-Fixe menus throughout the week in addition to their regularly priced menu and is a fine-dining opportunity like no other.
Sample the culinary delights of some of Arizona’s finest chefs, try out new types of food, and taste some of the best food Arizona has to offer for only $33 or $44 per person. Explore the list of 117 participating restaurants and find the perfect restaurants to suit your taste, dietary restrictions, and find something exciting and new, or head to your all-time favorite restaurants at fabulous prix-fixe prices throughout the week!

Cave Creek Balloon Festival
When: Saturday, May 23, 2015.
Sanderson Lincoln will present the Sixth Annual Cave Creek Balloon Festival which was organized by Aerial Solutions and Tonto Bar & Grill from 5:30-10:00 pm on the Rancho Mañana Golf Course driving range. A shuttle is provided for drop off and pick up outside the Spur Cross Trading Post and will transport you to the event entrance on the corner of Cave Creek and Spur Cross Road. Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under, $10 for adults, and free for children under 2. Active military serviceperson s or veterans will receive a GA ticket for ½ price when they show their identification at the ticket office on event day. Paid parking is available as is handicapped assessable parking.
This years’ event will feature music by Cave Creek’s Lauren Riley and Heartlyn Rae, plenty of food and beverages will be available on site, and an awesome fireworks show will end the Memorial evening with a bang. The event will feature a kids’ zone with great activities so the little ones will have a blast and the Rancho Mañana Golf Club driving range will become a magical field of whimsical, brightly colored balloons at 7:30 pm!
*No pets, outside food and beverages, or lawn chairs permitted. ATMs available on-site. All activities depending on weather and all sales are final with no cancellations or rain checks.
Andy Warhol: Portraits
When: May 15 to June 21 at the Phoenix Art Museum
The Phoenix Art Museum will exhibit the works of Andy Warhol from the days when he was a student. This famous artist was a leading figure in the pop art movement and the exhibit will focus on “world famous” and celebrity culture. Examine over 120 Polaroid pictures, screen prints, paintings and drawings by the acclaimed artist; take part in his representation of the visual arts movement and experience Warhol’s unique visual perspective.
This exhibit will feature famous depictions of Prince, Sylvester Stallone, and Marilyn Monroe, to name but a few and will include Polaroids of the artist in drag in addition to family photos of Warhol and his family as a youth.
Admissions Details: General Admission is $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-17, $12 for Seniors and $10 for college students w/ID. Museum members and children under age 6 are admitted free. Wednesdays from 3 to 9 p.m. and First Fridays from 6 to 10 p.m. general admission for special exhibitions is reduced to $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-17.
Saturday Night Starlight Trains
When: May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29, and September 12.
Enjoy the romance and sense of adventure only a train ride has to offer. Verde Canyon railroad offers up a romantic evening of riding off into the sunset with its departure from the depot at 5:30 pm. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as your train rumbles through the canyon, painted in fantastic hues of the sun as it begins its decent. By the time you’ve reached the turnaround point in Perkinsville, the sunset you will experience will leave you amazed by its glory.
The return trip is just as spectacular as the stars come out and light up the night sky as the sun dips behind the mountains in the distance. This romantic and spectacular experience on the Saturday Night Starlight Trains is something you’ll talk about for years to come. Be sure to call ahead and reserve your seat well in advance as seats to on this wondrous evening of sunset and stars tend to fill up quickly and you’ll not want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience.
